As we enter the joy of the Easter season we also come face to face with our struggle to comprehend the meaning of the resurrection. Easter affirms our faith in the resurrection in the midst of our struggle to make the idea our own. Resurrection is not a scientific statement. Therefore, it does not need to be put to a scientific test. It is a mystery, a statement of faith. It is
the central belief of the Christian faith. Christ rose from the dead. The story of Jesus’ resurrection is the logical conclusion to all that Jesus did and said in his life.

Love not law is the way for believer in Jesus Christ. God’s purposes were not fulfilled by the law rather; Jesus was crucified under the law. The eternal presence now becomes for us a reality by the power of God at work in the resurrection. It makes it possible believing without seeing. During the Easter season we will look at the events that lead to the formation of the early church. Time after time we will see people experiencing their own resurrection as they become aware of the mighty acts of God that are changing them and they world they live in. The greatest gifts the Bible keeps revealing are those we need to know for our faith in the resurrected Christ to grow. This faith is the foundation of the resurrection experience that God offers us on a daily basis. Christ’s resurrection validates our faith and makes our resurrection possible.

During the early Easter Sunday service we remembered that resurrections come in many forms. Jesus was the first. Some of your loved ones were more recent. How will you incarnate a new understanding of the resurrection in this Easter season? In your life and work remember the faith you have received and pass it on to others by what you say and do day by day.

In Christ Our Common Bond,

Interim Pastor
