Pastor’s Message

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

“The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.”  Luke 10:2

In the month of November, the harvest at Granite Presbyterian will be very, very plentiful.  There are many events to feed the soul and nourish the spirit in terms of unique worship, fellowship, and mission opportunities.  Here is a brief summary of what is to come in November:

November 5 – Basket Bingo – @ 5-10pm – Sykesville American Legion, 7327 Slacks Rd., Sykesville

November 6 – All Saints’ Day observed in worship: liturgy of remembering our beloved departed.

November 10 – Community Roundtable Discussion (by invitation) – church elders and members will meet with religious and community leaders and state officials to explore possibilities for transforming our mission garden into a garden for refugees.

November 13 – Veterans’ Day observed in worship with procession of military flags.

November 20 – Jazz Vespers with John Lamkin Jazz Quarter.

November 27 – First Sunday of Advent.

Behind the scenes, many dedicated church members have been busy at work preparing for this rich harvest of activities to come, and the fruits of their labor will bless our church and community.  Together let us pray not only for a bountiful harvest, but also that people will come to our church from east and west and from north and south to join with us in a month of plentiful thanksgiving events.  If you have never invited a friend or neighbor to our church, the harvest will be very plentiful.  Will the laborers be few?

Happy Thanksgiving to you and to yours!

Blessings in Christ,

Pastor Terrence
